A1. MUSLIM SITUATION, PAST AND PRESENT

lslamic ideological and technological cultures achieved "world intellectual supremacy" and "hegemony" during 81-133AH/700-750AC. ( George Sarton, based on data in his Introduction to History of Science, 5 volumes, 1927-48 ). Except for Arabia, in 81 AH/700 AD, Muslims were only about 5% in Persia, 3% in Iraq, 2% in Syria and Egypt, and less than 1% in some countries! ( Richard Bulliet, Conversion to Islam in the Medieval Period ). This supremacy was maintained for 600-800 years, and utilized for mankind's benefit.

Muslims declined due to deviation ( tahrif ) through reductionism ( takhsis ) and Sufism. Imam al-Ghazali ( d. 505 A.H./1111 A.D. ) had noted that fiqh ( lit. "understanding", all knowledge ) was being restricted to Islamic law. Sufism corrupted the very concept of God in the Quran. God operates through His laws of the social and natural sciences which are unchangeable by men. Sufism taught that His laws could be suspended and violated through miracles ( karamat ) performed by the Sufis ( see, Ismail R. and Lois Lamya al Faruqi, The Cultural Atlas of Islam; Waqar A. Husaini, Islamic Thought in the Rise and Supremacy of Islamic Technological Culture ). Takhsis and secularism are Rejection of Islam, kufr, because they exclude God Almighty and Islam from the "two cultures, the ideological and technological, and restrict the concept of God and Islam to rituals and superficial aspects of the "five pillors". Modern Muslims in the West too have reduced Islam to halal-meats, hijab and beards! Muslims are content with blind imitation of the "two cultures" of the West and the East while civilization passes by them. Islam is complete submission ( al-silm al-kaffah ) to God's laws of all the socio-humanistic and natural sciences and technology, the way of truth ( din al-haqq, Quran 2:208; 9:33 ). Islamization is the duty of every Muslim ( fard `ayn ); it is also a pragmatic necessity because secularization, through Westernization and Marxism, has failed to "develop" Muslims even like the "advanced" non-Muslims.
